Welcome
to Thistle Dew Inn!
Our
inn was the first licensed bed and breakfast
in the wine country hamlet of Sonoma.
The sister and brother team of Jan and
Gregg have owned the Inn since 2003. Guests
from as far away as Japan, Australia,
and Italy have stayed here. Visitors as
close as the San Francisco Bay Area have
become frequent guests.
We invite you to scroll down and take
a little tour of Thistle Dew Inn. Then
select your preferred guest room and give
us a call!
We look forward to your visit ... Jan

| THEN
AND NOW: The two homes which
comprise the Inn were built in 1869
and 1910. They both have ceilings
over eleven feet high, and the common
area rooms reflect the graciousness
and scale of the period. Overall,
the Inn is comfortable and cozy; not
stuffy, nor grandiose. The atmosphere
is casual, yet furnished with original
Arts and Crafts pieces. The dining
room includes an original Gustav Stickley
table and sideboard, as seen on the
PBS series "Find!" History
is blended thoughtfully with modern
day conveniences. Each room has a
phone with voicemail and the entire
inn has wireless internet access.
We do not have televisions in the
room, although one room, the Mimosa,
does have a cable outlet, and a small
television can be set up there on
request. |
|
| FOR
YOUR COMFORT: Over the years,
the most requested amenities at our
Inn have been fireplaces and whirlpool
tubs. We feature both in many of our
rooms, and we have three rooms with
fireplaces and three rooms with luxurious
two-person whirlpool tubs; two of
these rooms have both! Moreover, all
four of our rooms in the rear house
have private entrances and private
decks in the garden. Our queen beds
are firm, and our linens are 300 thread
count 100% fine combed cotton which
we wash in unscented detergent. We
use no air-fresheners or potpourri,
and our cleansers are environmentally
safe and bio-degradable. We do not
allow any smoking inside the Inn,
so the rooms are all non-smoking. |
|
| BREAKFAST:
Breakfast at the Thistle Dew Inn is
predictably sumptuous. We take pride
in using only the finest and freshest
ingredients, and believe that food
should look as good as it tastes.
Each plate is prepared to order. If
you have special dietary requirements,
let us know and we will do our best
to accommodate you. Breakfast is served
from 8am to 9am Monday through Saturday,
and from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Sunday.
When delivered to the guest rooms
for an additional fee, breakfast is
served at 9 am or 9:30 am, after serving
the guests in the dining room. The
Inn does not serve any alcohol, but
guests are welcome to bring their
own wine to enjoy. |
|
| GARDENS
AND HOT TUB: Our gardens
are of particular note. The perennial
gardens are always in transition,
one plant or another blooming or sprouting.
We have planted many fragrant roses
as well, both modern and heritage
cultivars. The wisteria-covered arbor
shelters the sub-tropical fern garden.
Not just plants fill the gardens,
however; you’ll also find our
new hot tub spa in the garden. Located
in quiet corners and flanked by benches
are two small fountains, where guests
can sit and relax, read a book or
sip some wine. |
